Scottish rock titans Biffy Clyro have announced their biggest headline show ever at Glasgow Summer Sessions in Bellahouston Park this summer!
Biffy Clyro have announced their biggest gig ever as part of the Glasgow Summer Sessions Festival in Bellahouston Park this summer, on the 27th August 2016.
Biffy Clyro will play their biggest headline show to date at this year’s Glasgow Summer Sessions.
The band will be joined by special guests Fall Out Boy, Wolf Alice and Cage The Elephant for the show, which is part of Glasgow Summer Sessions. It’ll be sandwiched in-between the two bands’ joint headline slot at Reading & Leeds festival.
With a cult following since the mid nineties, Scottish band Biffy Clyro discovered a sound which appealed to a wider audience with their commercially successful 2007 album “Puzzle”. The album went gold in the UK, selling over 100,000 copies.
The Biff’s popularity was developed further in 2008 and 2009 with the release of the singles “Mountains” and “That Golden Rule”, which both reached the top 10 of the UK singles chart.
Their 2009 “Only Revolutions”, reached number 3 in the UK chart and went gold within just a few days of its release, it went platinum in 2010 and was nominated for the Mercury Music Prize.
The band are known for using complex and interwoven guitar riffs, unusual time signatures and chord sequences and melodies that often change throughout songs. Their music can change from aggressive to absolutely beautiful in the blink of an eye, and their lyrics somehow manage to be mournful and elating at the same time, which somehow makes them more powerful!
And of course, they are also well known for their energetic live performances.
They’re currently gearing up to preview new material – the follow-up to 2013’s Opposites – on Annie Mac’s BBC Radio 1 show next week (21st March), so we can expect to see a smattering of new songs at the band’s live shows this summer.
The Biffy Clyro Summer Sessions gig will follow Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds Friday night gig at the Glasgow based festival in Bellahouston Park on the 26th of August.
This gig will sell out very quickly, so don’t miss your chance to see Biffy Clyro live at Glasgow Summer Sessions on August 27th 2016!
