Queen Bey has announced one huge stadium gig in Glasgow’s Hampden Park this summer!

Global megastar Beyoncé has announced one night in Glasgow as past of her upcoming stadium world tour: Formation. Queen Bey will play Hampden Park National Stadium in Glasgow on the 7th of July 2016!

The reason the Hydro was built was to stage acts like Beyoncé. Too often these huge megastars (who were not quite ready for stadium tours) would by pass Glasgow / Scotland because there was not an arena big enough to support their tour. Well not any more.

The Formation world tour 2016 will run for 40 dates throughout summer 2016, and will include performances in Portugal, the UK, Spain, Ireland, Holland, Belgium, Germany, Canada and the US.

Beyoncé’s music career is now over 18 years old, she has won 17 Grammy Awards and sold over 118 million records as a solo artist and 60 million with Destiny’s Child, making her one of the best-selling music artists of all time. She is the top female artist in the world currently and has the awards to prove it, she was also included in Time magazine’s list of the 100 most influential people in the world.

News of Beyonce’s upcoming stadium trek arrives on the heels of her surprise new song “Formation,” which was released with an accompanying music video on Feb 6th, the day before her performance at Super Bowl 50.

Beyonce has developed into one of the elite touring acts in the world. Her Mrs. Carter World Tour of 2013-2014 grossed $212 million from attendance of nearly 2 million to 126 shows, according to Billboard Boxscore. Following that tour, she launched the On The Run co-headlining stadium run with her husband, Jay Z, which grossed $96 million from 832,769 tickets sold to just 19 shows in North America!

With just 5 gigs in the UK as part of this tour tickets are likely to sell very quickly. Make sure you don’t miss out on tickets to see Beyonce live in Glasgow’s Hampden Park Stadium on July 7th 2016. There are several pre-sale events including via Beyonce’s official website (you have to sign up) and an Amexcard pre-sale if you are an Amex card holder.
