Aye Write! Book Festival

6th – 14th March 2009

The Aye Write! Bank of Scotland Book Festival returns in 2009 with a scintillating mix of fiction and non-fiction, poetry and prose, crime, comedy, politics and debate.

Aye Write! is Glasgow’s annual literature festival which in 2009 will celebrate the best of Scottish and international writers.

Events are available for all age groups, including a great programme for the pre-school age children, including Toddlers Tales, which brings books to life while engaging in physical activity through stories and rhymes.  There is also a spot for new writers; recent graduates from the University of Glasgow, plus many more events from authors of all genres.

Among the authors taking part in this years festival are Alexander McCall Smith, Joan Bakewell, Julian Baggini, Cathy MacPhail, Liz Lochhead, Melvyn Bragg, Ian Rankin, Robert Fisk, Lorraine Kelly and Alan Bennett.  Events mostly take place in The Herald Cafe within The Mitchell Library, but some special events take place elsewhere in Glasgow so check before you go!
