Andrea Bocelli, the Italian classical and operatic superstar is coming to Glasgow for one night of pure entertainment at Glasgow’s SECC this November.
Andrea Bocelli is a five-time Classical Brit winner and three-time Grammy nominated Italian tenor. Since his debut album Il mare calmo della sera, released in 1994, he has recorded over 20 pop and classical albums, including seven complete operas, selling over 60 million worldwide. He is widely regarded as the most popular Italian singer in the world.
As many Bocelli-ites will know, the story goes that Sarah Brightman approached Andrea Bocelli after she heard him singing Con te partirò, whilst she was dining in a restaurant. Changing the title lyric of the song to Time to Say Goodbye, they re-recorded it as a duet with members of the London Symphony Orchestra and sang it as a farewell for boxer, Henry Maske. The single debuted at the top of the charts in Germany, France and Belgium, and got to no. 2 in the UK singles charts. With sales nearing three million copies, and a sextuple platinum award, Time to Say Goodbye eclipsed the previous best-selling single by more than one million copies.
Don’t miss your chance to see this singing sensation grace the stage at Glasgow’s SECC.
