The Lyric Club returns to the King’s with an upbeat and high energy production of 9 to 5 – The Musical, on from the 8th until the 12th of March 2016!
The Lyric Club returns to the King’s after their much-loved productions of Annie and more recently the Gershwin classic, Crazy For You, with the upbeat and high energy 9 to 5 – The Musical.
With music and lyrics by Dolly Parton, and a book by Patricia Resnick based on the 1980s hit movie, this fun-filled musical delights from the outset. Set in the late 1970s the show is a hilarious story of friendship, gossip and revenge in the Rolodex era. The plot centres around three unlikely female friends who when pushed to boiling point by their sexist, egotistical, lying, bigot (in other words not a nice man!) of a boss, devise a plan to get even. They conspire to take control of the company and learn there’s not very much that they can’t do – even in a man’s world!
Featuring Dolly Parton’s original hit song, 9 to 5, this show is funny, feisty and full of catchy tunes guaranteed to have you dancing in your seat. So bring your friends and colleagues, leave the daily grind behind for a few hours and come and join us for a great night out!
