Headlined by Glasgow’s very own Paolo Nutini, Glasgow’s Hogmanay 2008 presents the very best in Scottish music.

Idlewild, Bleachie (Blondie Tribute band) and other special guest will be joining Paolo Nutini in the celebrations. The event will be held together by Real Radio’s Cat Harvey, Paul Harper and Micky Gavin with DJ for the night Tam Coyle.

The celebrations will start at 9pm in George Square and continue until 1.30am on the 1st of January 2009.

All tickets for Glasgow’s Hogmanay cost £15 each.

Tickets are still available and can be obtained on-line from Ticketmaster.co.uk

As always, demand for George Square Hogmanay tickets will be extremely high; they are very likely to sell out within a few hours as they have done in many previous years. The tickets are strictly limited to six per household.

Please note:  Booking fees will be applied to all tickets bought over the phone or from ticketmaster.

Idlewild – The Scottish rock legends have now confirmed for the Glasgow’s Hogmanay celebrations. Idlewild will also be playing 5 sell-out gigs at King Tuts Wah Wah Hut prior to Hogmanay.

Paolo Nutini - The million album seller artist will play Glasgow through ‘The Bells’ which is sure to include his biggest hits, Last Request, Jenny Don’t Be Hasty, Rewind and New Shoes, it’s the perfect way to celebrate 2009.

    you can take your own drink plastic containers only !!

    you can buy there but expect to wait about 1 hour to be served a pub was open but really you better of taking own drink i was there last year it was great !!! go to a pub before it opens we went to weatherspoons on argyle st as we stayed at travel lodge down there

    I SPENT NEW YEAR AT HOME WITH MY FRIENDS IM NOT A BIG FAN BEING IN THE SQUARE YOU CANT SEE MUCH I WENT TO THE IRN BRU CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR CANIVAL ON THE 3RD OF DEC MAGIC DAY OUT

    I was in the square right at the front, long blond hair…flew from majorca to my home in scotland to see paolo….briliant night and will be back 2009….scots are the best
